With the usual June deadline for estimated payments approaching, remember if you experienced flooding or were in the counties that did, you may qualify for a postponed deadline of September 1st, 2016.
“Individuals who reside or have a business in Fayette, Grimes, Harris, and Parker Counties may qualify for tax relief.
The declaration permits the IRS to postpone certain deadlines for taxpayers who reside or have a business in the disaster area. For instance, certain deadlines falling on or after April 17, and on or before September 1, 2016 have been postponed to September 1, 2016. This includes 2015 income tax returns normally due on April 18. It also includes the April 18 and June 15 deadlines for making quarterly estimated tax payments. A variety of business tax deadlines are also affected including the May 2 and August 1 deadlines for quarterly payroll and excise tax returns.”
